Open Streets events take place in cities all over the United States and the world, and the idea is pretty simple – close down a busy street to motor vehicle traffic, transforming the street into safe space for residents of all ages and abilities to get outside, exercise, play, and connect. Open Streets promotes health and wellness, raises awareness for safer streets, and builds community.
Open Streets Wilmington will feature 5 events in 2025 from April through September (taking a break in July) in rotating locations throughout the city. For more information about each individual event, please click on the events listed in the schedule below:
April 26, 1pm – 4pm: N. Walnut Street between 10th Street and 16th Street
May 31, 1pm – 4pm: New Castle Ave between Pearl Street and A Street
June 28, 1pm – 4pm: W. 4th Street between Lincoln Street and Broom Street
August 16, 1pm – 4pm: N. Market Street between 18th Street and Vandever Avenue
September 13, 11am – 2pm: Bowers Street between 23rd Street and Todds Lane
